The idea of Toon Titulaer and his company IDcan was about a new method of waste collection: a central point where cans, cardboard packages and plastics could be returned, called PlasticPunt (PlasticPoint). A major advantage is that primarily plastics can be separated more effectively. Currently, all plastics are disposed in one bag. But when using the sorting system, various types of plastic are distinguished using barcode recognition. This creates the opportunity to recover higher quality materials which can be used for higher quality products.

But how do you get people to break their habits regarding waste management? DuneWorks focussed on this question in this innovation process. Solutions can be found in homes, but also in cooperation with the neighborhood, the city and the use of appropriate (economic) resources. In short, a system approach is needed!
