Project Description

Stedin: Hoog Dalem

Around 50 houses in the neighbourhood Hoog Dalem have been using energy storage systems and smart technologies in order to optimize their usage of self-generated energy. This project gave a great opportunity to learn about issues that are crucial for successful installation and adoption of energy systems aimed at demand side management. This research was commissioned by Stedin, a grid operator in the Netherlands.

Prior to the installation of the energy systems the motivations and expectations of residents were investigated. After installation the focus was on how residents appreciated and experienced these new systems. The aim was to gain insights about how residents can be convinced to adopt and motivated to properly use these new energy systems.
