Stedin: Hoog Dalem

Around 50 houses in the neighbourhood Hoog Dalem have been using energy storage systems and smart technologies in order to optimize their usage of self-generated energy. This gave a great opportunity to learn about issues that are crucial for successful installation and adoption of energy systems aimed at demand side management. In 2016 DuneWorks was commissioned by Stedin, a grid operator in the Netherlands, to investigate the motivations and expectations of residents regarding the installations prior to their use. In addition, an evaluation took place on how residents appreciated and experienced the use of these new systems. The aim was to gain insights about how residents can be convinced to adopt and become motivated to properly use these new energy systems.
