Project Description

Climate change dialogues

Dialogue sessions ‘How to deal with climate change at the local level?’

DuneWorks is part of a consortium responsible for the organisation of dialogue sessions in two municipalities in the Netherlands. The dialogues will focus on risk management and climate adaptation. Questions for example are about the impact of climate change on local communities and how these can communities organise themselves to become resilient to climate change, both in the case of extreme weather events as well as the long-term effects of climate change.

The project is financed with subsidies from the Spatial Adaptation Incentive Programme set up by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

The dialogue sessions will result in an strategic climate adaptation action plan for the municipalities and a diverse group of local and regional stakeholders (e.g. care professionals, entrepreneurs, politicians, residents, nature conservationists, schools and others).

DuneWorks will be responsible for developing the method, monitoring, (social) learning and reporting the process.

Partners: municipalities Soest and Baarn, Irene Poortinga (Drop by Drop), Bart Cosijn (Bart Cosijn gespreksleiding) en Gert Dekker (Ambient) uitgevoerd.
