A stakeholder analysis identifies those actors that are relevant to a technology or project.

analysis shows what the position of the actor is towards the technology or project: opponent or supporter; it identifies their power and the influence they might have on the success of the technology or project.

Once the analysis of the position, power and influence of stakeholders has taken place it now can be assessed if these stakeholders can be linked to the technology or project, how and what strategies should be used to deal with them.
